Understanding the R in FRUIT - Rain

In this blog, I want to focus on the "R" in FRUIT, which stands for Rain. Rain is a powerful symbol in our spiritual journey. It represents renewal, blessings, and the manifestation of our prayers.

The Hope of Renewal

The Bible offers us profound wisdom about hope and renewal. In Job 14:7-9 (ESV), we read:

"For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease. Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put out branches like a young plant."

This passage illustrates that even when things seem dead or hopeless, there is always a chance for revival. Just like a tree can sprout again with the scent of water, our prayers can bring forth new life.

The Power of Prayer

In 1 Kings 18:42, 45 (ESV), we see the power of prayer in action:

42 “... Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees.“

45 "... And in a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain..."

Elijah's prayer stopped the rain for three years, and through his prayers, it rained again. This shows us that prayer is not just a ritual; it produces life. Before we see changes in the natural realm, they must first be birthed in prayer through the Spirit of God and the Word of God.

Continuing the Prayer Wave

I encourage you to stay on this prayer wave. This Spring and early Summer, we have experienced an abundance of physical rain. Let this be a reminder of what your prayers can accomplish when you partner with the King.
