"...Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me." — Song of Songs 2:13(TPT)
There is something beautiful about watching a child grow into the person God created her to be. As parents, we celebrate each milestone while quietly carrying prayers that only God fully understands.
As my daughter approached her sixteenth birthday, I found myself asking ABBA a simple question:
"What is on Your heart for her?"
The answer did not come in a long list of instructions or warnings. Instead, He gave me a picture.

I saw a young woman running freely through an open field, her hand securely held by
Jesus.
There was no fear.
No hesitation.
No striving.
Only joy.
She wasn't looking behind her, wondering what she had left. She wasn't anxiously trying to see every turn in the path ahead. She simply trusted the One who was leading her.And she was smiling as she gazed into His eyes.
As I painted this image, I realized that this was not only God's heart for my daughter. It is His invitation to every one of us.
Learning to Hold His Hand
Life is full of decisions.
Some seem small, some are life changing.
So often we expect ABBA to show us the entire path when in truth He wants us to hold His hand, and let Him lead the way.
The safest place we will ever be is not where every circumstance is predictable. It is where our hand is in His. In Him there is peace, courage, guidance and He reminds us that He will never leave us.
Running Instead of Striving

In this image, she was running.
Children run because they feel safe.
They run because they trust.
They run because of joy
ABBA is constantly inviting us back to original design, back to the garden, when He would walk and talk with Adam. And the same way He longs for fellowship with us. Our walk with Him is also bathed in freedom not religious obligation. Jesus invites us into an adventure of discovering His goodness day after day. Even when the path includes difficulty, His presence transforms uncertainty into hope.
The fields in this painting remind me of the wide places God brings us into when we trust Him. Places where His grace has room to flourish, where faith grows stronger, and where we begin to see that His plans truly are better than our own. They are also wheat fields ready for harvest. In Him, there is room for growth, there is provision and abundance of life.
A Prayer for Every Young Woman
While every brushstroke carried my prayers for my daughter, I know this painting belongs to a much larger story.
Perhaps today you are praying for a daughter.
Or a granddaughter.
A niece.
A student.
A friend.
Perhaps you are the young woman standing at the threshold of new seasons, wondering which path to take.
My prayer is the same.

Hold His hand and discover who You are through His eyes, not culture. He formed you and created you and no one loves you more or knows you better than He does. Let go of fear and anxiety and trust Him to lead the way. Seek His guidance as you have your eyes focused on His gaze. Watch every distraction and fear melt away as you Run the Fields with Him and experience all the blessings He has reserved just for you.
